Howa 1500 300 Win Mag Bolt Locked and Won't Extract After Firing

I have contacted HOWA too and they fobbed me off on their Canadian reps Northern Exposure Sporting Group.
Is that your experience as well?
Were they the ones that looked after you or did they put you over to CSC?
And did they cover shipping?
Yes, I dealt with The Northern guys as well. They were good. CSC is the third party who does their warranty work in Canada. They did NOT cover shipping to CSC but did cover shipping back from CSC.

Ok thanks,
That's what I figured.
It's BS but at this point, I can't return the rifle so I guess that's how its gonna be.

There are a few extraction issues that have come up for me, that had nothing to do with the chamber.

One was a Cooper in 7 STW that had from hard to brutal bolt lift with anything other than the most powderpuff of loads. Even after the bolt was fully up, it was a tug o war to pull the bolt back. The issue there was the extractor itself dragged on the inside of the receiver ring and dragged steel on steel when the case expanded. I’d spot that in 2 minutes now, and fix it in ten but it took more than awhile to figure out the first time. The extractor was over-sized on the outside, where most of the time it wouldn’t make any difference.

Another fairly common one, especially on Remingtons is being able to lift the bolt handle like nothing but can’t pull the bolt back. Thats usually due to Remingtons stubborn insistence on making some of their 700 actions with no primary extraction at all even though it’s part of the design. Moving the bolt handle isn’t a 1/2 hour job, usually involves refinishing and probably won’t work anyway. I do have a half hour fix for it that does work though.
I don’t think either of these are the OP’s problem though, that sounds like a bad chamber.

Have dealt with that one (not my rifle) on a bud's 700 in 7mm RM. Shame. Never bit me but did get to see it there

Update:
After contacting Northern Exposure Sporting Group, i was told to complete a form and submit it along with photos and/or a description of the issues.

So i did that and sent it in a few days ago.
Hearing nothing back I called and had to leave a message. No response.

So I called again just now.

I was told that the process for receiving a return authorization number typically could take 3-4 weeks and the repair or rectification of the problem as much as 12 weeks.

To me that is pretty unacceptable.

Once a gun is fired you cant return it.

But you dont know about a manufacturing defect until you fire it. WTAF !!??

I am not aware of another industry that thrives on such a pillowy cloud of unaccountability.

I am fortunate that my other Howa functions well and shoots accurately.

Just wanted to close this out. I received the rife back from the warranty service. They had to ream the chamber out a bit more as it appears the factory reamer was at the end of its life. I was able to get the gun out to get it zeroed last weekend and worked flawlessly. So Howa warranty did come through and resolve the problem and I appreciate them doing so.

i cant quite close mine out yet.
I am told that i am being sent a complete rifle as a replacement.
This is good of course but it is taking a looooong time to get out of the US.
CSC have been great. As i have come to expect.
