Shame the CIL/Dominion ammo isn't made anymore.for super powerful ammo if your a gunshow guy look out for the CIL dominion 240 G SP. its old but powerful! i think its actually made for rifles. a nice smooth round is the leverevolution .225 FXT tip by hornedy.
Nosler 240 gr JSP over 23.5 grs of H110 in a Ruger 44 Carbine has resulted in more bang flops for me than any other caliber within 100 yards. As a kid, I used Rem 240 gr JSPs, taking my first deer at 14. I just acquired a Canuck Wrangler and look forward to trying it with these and 305 gr Hard Cast. Minimal meat loss unless the shoulder is hit.
My dad taught me to shoot right behind the front shoulder middle from the top to the bottom which worked well with the JSPs. Some were angled shots behind the shoulder on one side with exits in front of the opposite shoulder. While the trajectory is like a bowling ball beyond 150 yards, at close range it is hard to beat in the brush. And thats not neck/high shoulder shots that connect with spine?
I've definitely seen ya selling and posting some 44s, my friend. Had a feeling you use/shoot em quite a bit
He was stationary, I'd guess at 50-70 yards around 4pm, just behind the right shoulder.Nicely done and nice whitetail there!
Where'd ya hit him and how far did he make it afterward? Leave much blood?
