Liberals will certainly be working overtime to take everything they can.
I'm confident Poilievre will follow through with what he said about 30+ times just in the 2025 election campaign alone -that he will scrap the gun grab and repeal everything Trudeau has done (on firearms) IF HE HAS A MAJORITY GOVT. See my signature line.
Fact is, that doesn’t matter anymore. If conservatives win the next election it will be on a different campaign platform, different set of promises and maybe an even different leader.
Don't get me wrong I trust PP and that he would follow through to an extent, and that extent is what he would perceive as something that would cost him voters.

A lot of dooming in this thread. A couple things:
The most seats gained by any party in the last election was the Conservatives, far and away.
The younger generations, including those who will be soon eligible to vote are heavily skewing conservative.
There have never been more licensed firearms owners in this country, and those numbers are continuing to spike, especially amongst the younger cohorts.
I don't think Carney's gonna get as much done as he thinks. His cabinet looks like a who's who of the same buffoons that have been failing this country for the last three mandates, he's dealing with a national unity crisis the likes of which we haven't seen since the 95 referendum, "dealing with trump" is going to be a fool's errand that leaves no one satisfied, and the scandals will start eventually. And he thinks he's gonna be disarming the 7th most heavily armed country in the world? "Buying back" millions of firearms with the worst economy/deficits seen since the 1930s? Good luck. Even with Provost in cabinet, they're gonna continue to kick the can down the road, or if they do try to implement a buyback, it's going to be an awful boondoggle with far too much spent and pitiful compliance. I suspect they'll have a couple guns handed in by clueless old farts, parade it in the media whilst calling it a win, and the rest of us get grandfathered in or remain paper criminals until a Conservative admin axes the bans.
So instead of the all is lost mentality, we need to fight like hell to show everyone why this is a terrible idea and it's not in the public interest. Tell your friends/family, show up with a group to your MPs office demanding an explanation, mentor new shooters, etc. But for the love of god, no more dooming.

The AR was part of a huge OIC ban including many other popular firearms. Not to mention the two additional OIC bans since then.
It's easiest and makes sense all three would be scrapped at the same time.

Nope. The prohibition of the AR's passed Royal Assent. It's law. All the other guns are prohibited via "Order in Council" (read, not "law"...yet).

The AR15 rifle is banned by the May 2020 OIC (Order in Councel) REGULATION.
It's currently, not yet banned by legislation (a Bill that is voted on in the House and Senate).
The Liberals may adopt a new classification system that bans semi autos through the passing of legislation to ammend the Firearms Act.
Until then, the OIC ban on AR 15 rifles can be scrapped by simply issuing another OIC to reverse the ban.
That could be done by a CPC MINORITY government.

And you are correct. I was confusing AR15's as being the firearms affected by C-21. Mea Culpa,
they can ban whatever the FK they want,but banning doesn't mean these guns just dissapear,LOL..99% of these prohibited guns they have no clue who has them or where they are,and that's going to stay that way,no self respecting gun owner is just going to turn anything in,LOL.reminds me of the original Gun registry,where they spent 5 years threatening gun owners into registering their guns,they never even go to 15% compliancy,today it's predicted would be less than 5%..LOL...so good luck with that,the libtard mind is beyond complete stupidity,
