Waiting and Wanting - the Flux Raider

So Mark, when you get closer to dying will you give out your address to us local gunnies so that your collection can be tragically lost in canoe accidents? 😆

My family have been fully briefed. My confidential personal directive details who gets what and nearby friends will execute the shipping plan. The Po Po will find a mostly empty gun vault when they show up to confiscate the prohibs. My family understands the need for absolute silence and minimal cooperation...

I got to play around with my buddy’s last Friday and it is truly an outstanding piece of kit. I’ve owned a few different Glock type chassis systems and there is no comparison between the two, the Flux is very well put together 👍
As others have mentioned, I’m kicking myself for not getting an Sig when the opportunity was there, that FCU is so slick!
The curse of being a stubborn old Glock guy bit me on this one lol

Well, it took a a long while. And it cost an awful lot. But was it worth the wait and the cost? Well, after due consideration I can only say, "Hell Yes"!!!

After placing my $2.5K pre-order back in December 2024, I patiently awaited the arrival of my SIG Legion Flux Raider PCC/PDW. After what seemed like an interminable wait, February 2025 finally rolled around and true to their word, Rangeview Sports received the "Canadianized" SIG P320 Flux Raider kits from M.D. Charleton, the SIG Distributor for Canada. In lieu of the Fire Control Unit (that cannot be transferred under the Canadian "Hangun Freeze"), and 2 x 10/30 Magazines, the Canadian SIG P320 Legion Flux Raider would ship as a parts kit substituting a custom 4.1" Barrel for the Canada-verboten 3.9" US Standard Legion Barrel length and 2 x standard-length 10-round Magazines for the 30-round factory Mags.

Given the relatively short length of the compensated SIG P320 Legion Slide, I had always planned to swap out the integrally-compensated Legion slide to my B+T P320 Folding Stock Chassis, and then take my longer, SIG P320 X5 Slide and Compensator and put it on the SIG Flux Raider Chassis. This swap would better balance both firearms in terms of matching up similarly long slides and Barrels with an equal-length Chassis. In the case of the P320 X5 Slide and Compensator, this longer assembly would project just past the end of the Raider Chassis instead of ending within the frame and looking out of place. Fitting the X5 Slide and Compensator to the Flux Raider Chassis took some Dremel and sandpaper work at the Muzzle end in order to accommodate the partially-recoiling Comp, however the end result was worth the effort and risk as I really like the look (and effect).

Additions to the basic SIG Legion Flux Raider parts kit include:

- Killer Innovations P320 X5 Threaded Bull Barrel
- Killer Innovations P320 X5 Compensator
- Tactical Development F10 Ambi Charging Handle
- Tactical Development Right Side Safety Delete
- Flux Defense 1.5" Length of Pull Buttstock
- Flux Defenxe Gen 1 Operating Lever with Slide Catch Detent
- Holosun AEMS Red Dot Carbine Sight
- Streamlight TLR-8 Light/Red Laser combination
- SIG 10/21-round (Front) and 10/30-round IRear) Magazines

In addition to the aforementioned Dremel and hand-sanding work on the Muzzle end of the Chassis, I also decided to remove approximately 2cm from the bottom tip of the Buttplate. I used a hacksaw to remove the bulk of the material, finishing and blending the cut polymer with additional hand-sanding. Sometimes perfection requires risks. This time it paid off in Spades! The tip of the Buttstock no longer projects below the line of the firearm and therefore doesn't catch on the zippered edges of my sling-bag during a hasty retrieval.

Your build made me drool so much I ordered a Flux legion yesterday.. Do you mind telling me where you acquired the charging handle and extended buttstock?

Congratulations on your purchase of a Sig Legion Flux Raider! My accessories were a lengthy work in progress to collect up, as accessories and aftermarket Flux Raider parts are few and far between up here in Canada.

My F10 Charging Handle came from Tactical Developments, mailed to me by a buddy in the US, as they do not ship to Canada. The SBR Buttstock came from Gun Post, so was a 'one of" type of deal. I recommend putting out a "Want to Buy" listing on both CGN and GP to see what (if anything) turns up. The Buttstocks are 3D printed items, FWIW.

Why buy the Sig Legion Raider X at $2500 CAD (without FCU) vs IRG import a Flux Raider X (without FCU, slide, comp, mags) for $750 CAD?
I do get it from a collector's perspective, but wondering if I'm missing anything significant from a target shooting perspective?

You aren't missing anything from a target shooting perspective, but you ARE missing the lack of supply issue. Although partnering with SIG-Sauer USA has upped Flux's production capacity, that is for the SIG-branded Legion Raider, not necessarily the RaiderX chassis. Historically speaking, the availability of Raider X chassis' has been the product's downfall and the company's major shortcoming, based on a lack of internal manufacturing capacity.

Until the arrival of the SIG/Flux collaboration Legion Raider, there were no chassis to be had on the open market and if you COULD find one they were typically priced much higher than retail...

SIG USA has provided a steady supply of Legion Raiders to the market where no reliable source previously existed. The price of availability however, is having to purchase the complete Legion Raider platform for $2.6K CAD vice just a (nonexistant) Raider chassis alone. Such is life - as usual, you've gotta pay to play...
