Just a Reminder that a PAL is now required for powder. While we might not agree with this, it is the law. We would lose our liscense to sell if we do not recore it.

This is in response to this message we received from a customer demanding we break the law. This is just one message, he was on the chat as well threatening to 'blacklist' us forever if we didn't change how we do powder sales by Friday :(

Good to know. The sales guys on the chat were a bit unsettled as he was quite abrasive. (worse than this message) I don't have access to it right now and I was out hunting on Saturday when it happneed, but I'll post some screenshots this week. I have his email and a phone number associated with the email but we don't know who he is. Guys like this never disclose thier names.

As much as many Canadians are frustrated with the way things have went/are going (myself included), any level headed person doesn’t not expect stores to get themselves in legal #### and/or possibly lose the ability to sell such products. I always spoke highly of Prophet and quick to recommend them on other sites…and the vast majority of us will always support your store if we come across any wingnut slamming Prophet unfairly. Prophet has a very good and earned reputation IMO. Thanks for everything you guys do.
 
A massive non compliance action would speak words against unjust laws and government action but sadly that won't happen we will go along with the rules i forced upon us until the end when we will be stripped of our our hobbies and our passions
yes it will not stop until the Lib agenda is complete
Hopefully we will have a change of thought in the future after another election

Apologies….little trouble following. How does this relate to Prophet following the law regarding business compliance/sales/regulations? Are you indicating they should partially break law or disregard regs to be resistant? Just trying to understand what you’re getting at.

My orders have always been handled with top shelf professionalism by your stores staff.

This post is hard to follow along with, but seems like your assigning Prophet River fault, for following the new regulations.

If that's what your doing, we'll, that's just stupid, plain and simple.
 
I recently ordered some powder online and wasn’t able to complete the order without my pal info. I sent a message to the vendor that could be described as terse, no foul language or anything though. I wrongly assumed it was just store policy. It’s a peeve of mine when people go above and beyond laws of safe storage etc thinking there’s some kind of virtue in it. Results in normalization and it just makes it easier for them to keep squeezing us, which is obviously the intent of this government.

Nope not assigning anyone blame but gun owners talk big about non compliance and resistance but just do what they are told like good little sheep.
Gun owners follow the laws or else they might lose their property. News flash millions followed the laws and they are going to lose their property anyway.
So just do what you are told and sit down.

People don't realize that it's not the business making the rules. I had a similar interaction when I asked someone to provide their PAL selling them magazines. They declined and didn't end up buying them.

I was also surprised to learn that as of 1 Sept 2024 you also need a PAL to buy a firearm barrel or handgun slide.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have people trying to get vendors to break the law so they can revoke their licenses. Just like they have undercover, underage people trying to buy alcohol or cigarettes.
