Fiocchi 7.5 Swiss from antique

I just saw that fiocchi makes 7.5 Swiss Ordnance that is hot and produces over 200 ft lb of energy.

Does anyone know if this can safely be fired from an antique status Swiss revolver?

What is making you think the fiocchi ammo is "hot"?

I wonder why fiocchi would make 7.5 swiss revolver ammo that can't be used safely in a 7.5 swiss revolver.

I was under the impression that production of that particular ammo had stopped, but I could be wrong.

I have read a lot about this and decided to not shoot it in mine. Mine has the thin top strap like most antique (if not all) versions. I am sure it wouldn't blow the gun up but its probably going to slowly damage it. OldgunsCanada sells a H&C reloading kit for black powder, this is what the gun was intended to shoot.

They run production intermittently. Some was produced last year, and prior to that in 2008.

I've fired 100 rounds through mine. It hasn't visibly damaged it in any way but when I reload those cases I'll be using FFFG. I will say it does seem that Fiocchi's published spec's for that loading seem wildly optimistic. It's still a total popgun
