Transporting smokeless powder

It's not easy to ignite. And when ignited, the burn rate is non explosive, unless accellerated by being confined so that pressure builds. So, treat is as flammable, but in the can (or now, more likely plastic jug) its not anything like a bomb.

Anyone know specifics of transporting powder in a private vehicle? I want to bring some from Dad's place to the farm.

There are no specifics. Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations apply to commercial shipments. Individuals moving personal use quantities in private vehicles are not affected and should absolutely not do things like put random TDG stickers on their bumpers.

Duh...of course he shouldn't use a sticker, that's for boxes silly, he needs a placard!

If you're only going to transport a couple of pounds, or 20 pounds, just put it in the car's trunk or hatch and go home. There's no reason to draw attention to yourself.

When you pick up powder from the local gun shop, do you make special placards or worry about it?

I can see if you're a commercial shipper, adhering to such regulations, but for a one off trip, it doesn't make much sense and there's a good chance you will draw unwanted attention, which you don't need.
