Thanks and have good day.
I use Unique, cream of wheat and a plug formed by pressing the neck into a bar of soap to fireform 375 H&H into 458 Lott. No bullet reqired. I see no reason why it wouldn’t work for the Capstick.
Hello Dogled, thanks for the replay, finally 2 year after my 470 Capstick is done , now need to glass bedding and Cerakote .I use Unique, cream of wheat and a plug formed by pressing the neck into a bar of soap to fireform 375 H&H into 458 Lott. Its hard to remember, I think I ended up around 18 grains or so. Just start low and keep turning up the heat until you get a good bang instead of a poof.Hello Dogled, thanks for the replay, finally 2 year after my 470 Capstick is done , now need to glass bedding and Cerakote .
I like your suggestion, how many grain of Unique should I use to fireform with cream of wheat? should annealed the bras before ? Appreciate your answer, thank best regards and have a nice day.

Thank for the reply, one more question should i put something between the powder and the cream of wheat or just pour the cream over the powder ?Its hard to remember, I think I ended up around 18 grains or so. Just start low and keep turning up the heat until you get a good bang instead of a poof.
If never hurts to anneal first, better to avoid the damage to the brass because annealling doesn’t fix it after the fact. With new brass I just let ‘er buck.
As someone mentioned; you’ll be surprised by how much heat is produced.
thanks for the replay, but 416 are harder to find.Starting with .416 rem would be easier if you can find some.
appreciate the suggestion, i will follow your suggestion for Irish spring with aloe and cleaning the barrel thanksI’ve not used unique but have done a fair bit of cow forming using other powders. I liked red dot, my 30 Gibbs I was using 12 or 13 grains. Fill to the base of the neck with cow and then cap with soap. The Irish spring stuff with aloe is easiest to clean up. Increase or decrease charge a little as needed to get a good form. I did some rather large cases that I was up to 18gr if I remember correctly. Be advised the barrel will get hot and dirty doing this, I generally stopped and gave it a quick cleaning every 20 rounds or so. If you’re using new brass it should be soft enough from factory but I would anneal after forming.
thanks for the replayWhy not save the primers, powder & breakfast cereal [presuming you are using C-o-W] & just get yourself an NOE, Sinclair or ToTW case neck, expander?

I would consider soap too expensive , I have used simple carpenters glue ( the cheap white stuff school kids use also) small bottle will last lifetime of fireforming. Adds a day to let the glue dry but ive used it successfully for hundreds of cases.appreciate the suggestion, i will follow your suggestion for Irish spring with aloe and cleaning the barrel thanks
