New Acquisition - Steyr SSG 69 PII

Had both SSG P11 and a P1. Cracked magwell, on both. Two 10 rd mag eventually shtye the bed. There’s aftermarket upgrade for mag and magwell. McMillan use to make a nice stock for the P11 too. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful rifle, thanks for posting. I have one with the 20-inch barrel...I think it's the PII-K...and it is hands-down my favourite rifle for playing around on the range. I've also taken a bunch of coyotes with it, and keep planning to use it for a deer someday but something else always seems to get the nod.

Mine has the aftermarket aluminum magwell that uses AICS magazines. Terrific upgrade; lets you shoot and clean all you want without worrying about your magazine or magwell deteriorating or cracking. I got mine from Nordic Marksman. In your case, you could sell your old magazine/magwell on the EE and likely almost get enough to pay for the upgrade. :)

Where do you get the AICS magwells?

Yes, I got mine (Styria) from Nordic Marksman a couple years back; waited a number of months for them to get stock. The last time I checked their site, they were out of stock but still listed, so perhaps put your name on a waiting list?

The confidence they add to using your gun without worry is priceless. The kit also includes some bits and pieces including a couple of different trigger springs for different pull weights, and a couple of different length magazine release levers to suit your preference.

I just checked and they are no longer listed on their website. I'll have to fire them an email.

Yeah at $330 for a replacement mag I'm going to be careful. I eventually would like the AICS conversion but they aren't easy to find.
1. CLP will destroy the 10rd mags (right in the middle of the match it self destructed :(
2-The 10 rd mags are quite fragile, the 5 rd mags , sturdy , no problem
3- The replacement metal fittings work great! Mine came with a replacement trigger spring also.
4. So far I cannot not match the accuracy I get with my Steyr SSG69 green machine, even though the PII is a much heavier rifle.

Enjoy your nice toy!

Nice rig, can I ask where you found the rifle?
I can't speak for Armed Ginger, but keep an eye on the various auctions and check some of the better online retailers - I picked my "used" but basically brand new SSG P1 from a dealer a year or so back for a fairly good price - they may be 'older' rifles, but they're still fantastic!
