The warranty replacement stock is a high gloss smooth black synthetic material.

I'm not much of a fan.

Has anyone else been underwhelmed with their warranty replacement ?

They offered me any stock I wanted. Chose the black plastic one from the new x-bolt micro composite.

Yeah the texture of the duratouch was nice but it seems pretty obvious why they got away from it.

I have no complaints with the stock, and Browning's customer service was exceptional. They replaced the stock even though it was clearly damaged by one of the site vendors from having it tied on their rack with a metal cable.

Where do you get this warranty? Also do you have to send the whole gun for this warranty? Thank you

They can send you a stock, you can send them the gun or you can have it done at an authorized gunsmith/dealer.

I opted for the dealer and had it bedded at the same time.

My dad was looking into this a year ago for his X-Bolt (duratouch stock gone gooey) and at that time they only way to have it replaced was to send the entire rifle to Browning. Has this changed then? If they're willing to mail a stock then that's a tremendous improvement.

Even when you needed to send in the rifle, they sent you a prepaid label. They used a guy in the Eastern Townships. I can't remember the exact turnaround time but it wasn't long.

I asked that they adjust the trigger pull to the minimum setting at the same time.

They will void any warranty claims on the gun of any kind if the stock is owner changed

Turnaround time for mine for stock replacememt, bedding, bore sight scope and including postage travel time was about 5 weeks.

FCD is correct ! They need the complete rifle so they can bed it for the warranty. I've sent 7 or 8 rifles and shotguns for myself and some friends...longest turnaround was 4 months on a carbon fiber Maxus that had to be stripped and re-dipped. They did an awesome job on it...stock looked brand new, they also fixed the missing pin in the loading gate N/C !! Great service.

** their gunsmith (A. Bouchard) of many yrs is now retired.
