Hi there, Took my CZ 452 American out yesterday and experimented with 6 brands of ammo at 50 yds, 10 shot groups. Couldn't believe the T-Bolts scored the best, even better than Eley Target ammo. Has anyone else had good success with the Tbolts? I only wish they were not in a solid so I could use them for hunting. Velocitors, Mini-Mags, Subsonics, American Eagle, all seemed to group about the same, only toonie sized groups.

Cyclones are the HP version.

The new Remington HP Gameloads are even better

x2 cyclones are same rounds as thunderbolts only HP. Accuracy in most cases with thin-barreled 22's is just a function of harmonics. There is certain "accurate" speed out of particular barrel, so in your case Thunderbolts were the closest to that speed. It doesn't make them overall an accurate or consistent brand. Get yourself descent rifle, like Savage MkII or Remington 597:nest:

I found Remington thunderbolts shot ok out of my Ruger 10/22 target. But.... they were very dirty. I liked the American Eagle 40 grain solids better.

I also shot some Elley out of my rifle. They were so so. I was disapointed.

CCI min mags shot decently, and were better than the eagle or Elley.
But... Lapua Super club shoots the best out of my rifle.
That's as expensive as I'll go out of my semi auto.

in my rifle the remington game loads seemed to shoot well granted once i got the rifle scoped everything seemed to shoot pretty decent, but remis sure smell different than the other brands i tried. has anyone else noticed the smell?

Have you ever seen HP target loads?

Any subsonic loads are HP and they are only 20fps below standard (target) velocity.

Lapua super club - there is something magic about that round, seem to shoot beautifully out of all my rifles.

Try Lapua Super club. I love how they smell after being shot. I haven't noticed this with the bulk ammo. However I did notice that the Winchester were also very dirty, and there seemed to be more powder smoke/flash than necessary when shooting. I was less than impressed.

The Remington thunderbolts are the worst shells I have ever bought . I few years back I bought 3 bricks (1500rnds) and I have never had so many missfires out of any 22lr shell in my life . You would pull the trigger and some would sound like wet farts if they went off at all. I have tryed them in probly 20 rifles with all the same results. Each brick had a different lot # as well , Remington did refund me for my troubles.

They were likely kept in a damn environment, like a basement or something.
I've gone through 10's of thousands of them with only a few misfires

I have had similar problems as BCBoy (maybe not quite to the same extent but still preatty bad). Every 10th shot or so was a misfire (tried out of two guns that were working fine with other ammunition as well). Most of all though I find that Remington ammunition (22lr anyway) is very dirty so generally I try to just stay away from Rem ammo.

I had a Savage Mk II BV that liked Remington ammo - the ONLY rifle that ever liked it. This one particularly liked Yellow Jackets - those HP's worked really well on Alberta Gophers last year!!!

Otherwise, Remington rimfire ammo has never been a first (or second or third) choice.

Have had great success with Dynapoints and Mini Mags.

The gophers won't mind if you shoot them with HP or RN bullets - never saw one stand up to either.....

Have fun!!! SD

I must be a "lucky" SOB when it comes to rimfire ammo. I have shot every type I could get my hands on over the part 30+ years, and can only remember about 4 or 5 FTF rounds, with even a couple of those firing once I turned them in the chamber and tried again. A couple of years ago at the range, someone had left 6 rounds of Super-X 22LR ammo on the bench that all had strike marks on the rim of the case, but had not fired. I ran them through my M68 Winchester single shot without a hitch!! Who knows about these malfunctions?? Not me! Regards, Eagleye.

i had my first ftfs today. 4 of them too! up to this point i have probably shot around 600 rounds and no duds, but today i bought some new ammo to try out, 4 or 5 brands of remi hps, and superxhp. 3 of the remi brands ftf'd and so did a superx. i was pretty scared the first time it happened for some reason.

Rarely a misfire with Thunderbolts in my 10-22 ... perhaps 2 or 3 in 15 years of shooting them. I find them relatively accurate, but yes, dirty.
