MRA Renegade/Maverick... is the bolt removal a deal breaker for you?

Not getting any meaningful customer support about the issues I am having. Giving MRA more chance to respond before I post further details. I feel they should have a good opportunity to repsond and dislike the idea of posting anything bad about a Canadian company until I have no other choice.

Dumb question, but did you call them? I have spoke to a few people at MRA in the past and all were very helpful.

YMMV

I dont mind taking out the stock to pull the bolt. The awful design that OP mentioned, I believe was to avoid the 'ar variant' tag. The single greatest complaint I have with it is I get a tonne of light strikes doesn't matter if I use the oem bolt head and firing pin or the on from my ar. I have no idea if I got a lemon and just tolerate it or if it's a wider problem.
I also got mine to replace the AR so I am willing to put up with more of those idiosyncrasies just to anger our overlords.

Having had a further round of emails with MRA I now understand their point of view. I like this rifle and support Canadian where ever I can.

However, given my very limited experience with this rifle (one range trip), I will say it does not seem to like some mags and does not like 7.62 Nato as opposed to 308 Win. I will give it another go and hopefully have a better experience next time.

is it a headspace issue? As in could the use of 7.62 nato be just a matter of reaming the chamber a little more? Tough for the average guy but a simple task for a smithy.
My thought originally was to build one of these mavericks with a .338federal barrel and I'm still contemplating it.

I built the Maverick with 338 Federal, I believe you can still find my post, but I found it very hard to extract, I used 308 Winchester brass that I necked up, that may have been the problem, but ending up selling it

can I ask where you sourced your barrel and what reamer was used to create your chamber?
hard extraction should be something that is able to be rectified by addressing the chamber and reamer used I would think.
I had planned to use a Jury barrel which was intended for a stag build after seeing others have success with those barrels (in 338 fed stag 10 builds)

I bought my barrel in the US from a company called x calibre they specialize in AR barrel
