SK pistol match any good?

Everybody got their own opinion of what is accurate. Or what shoots accurately.

Rimfire you'll hear this alot. What may shoot good in one gun, may not shoot well in another.

Only way of truly knowing, is to try in your gun.

Absolutely I'm getting desperate for SK anything at this point

Sorry if this is stuff you know already. Pistol match is ammo that didn't make the QC cut to make Standard Plus. Standard Plus is ammo that didn't make the cut to be Rifle Match. Of course a random sample of any of these three could be astoundingly good ... or bad. But on average, as best the maker can tell, Pistol Match will be the worst. And, since these products are made with the same components variability in performance is not attributable to some aspect or variable that your rifle "likes" or "dislikes". Those variations in performance are the results of variables in manufacture.

I only buy Rifle Match when buying SK because that gives me the best odds of getting the best of what they offer. Long Range is the higher velocity equivalent. I've had Pistol Match and it sucked. And not all RM has impressed me either.

I just picked up a brick of Standard plus, my friend and I bought the last two that the dealer had. I have never tried it, he has and likes it. I have never tried Pistol Match or magazine, but have heard good things. I also heard good things about Eley Contact, CCI Std. shot better in my rifle for half the price, won't buy that again. Tac 22 shoots way better than CCI Std. for not much more.

I my first two lots I purchased of SK standard + performed phenomenally in all my rifles. My latest lot purchased It shoots worse than any of the CCI SV i have shot. Tried some Sk rifle match and long range match and been equally disappointed as of late. Really been let down by SK compounded by lack of supply I have just given up on SK AMMO.

Switched to shooting RWS rifle match for competitions. And will stick with either that or CCI SV.

Funny I spent an hour yesterday checking rim thickness on my RWS rifle match as I can find that lol

All SK ammos are entry level target or match ammos. Any variety of SK -- Rifle Match, Standard Plus, Pistol Match etc. -- may produce some very good results. Some lots will be better than others and lots will have performance variation between boxes. That is to say, some boxes of the same lot (or parts of boxes) will be better than others.

In 2019 the grading hierarchy of SK's two main lines of ammo, the factory-rated 1073 fps varieties and the 1106 fps brands was explained. (Of course actual MVs will vary by lot, rifle, and temperatures.)

The grading ranking from top down is as follows for the nominally 1073 fps varieties. SK Rifle Match, SK Standard Plus, SK Pistol Match, and finally SK Magazine. For the 1106 fps varieties it's SK Long Range Match, SK Biathlon Sport, and SK Pistol Match Special. As with all .22LR match or entry level match ammos, it doesn't mean that "better" grades of ammo will necessarily out perform "lesser" grades.

I agree. I have a 457 in the MDT stock with heavy barrel and match chamber. For my setup I consider 1" 5 shot groups at 100 yds as my standard. I know 2 other people with the exact same model and each gun will perform differently with the same ammo. Mine doesn't like CCI SV nor Tac22 but my friends rifles will print 1" groups regularly. The best performing ammo in my gun so far is SK Biathalon Sport and that's compared to Center X and Tenex. Of course it's hard to find as well. Pistol Match shot well at 50yds but opened up at 100 in my gun. TC

Are you shooting this out of a rifle or a pistol? Distance and use (target, plinking, steel challenge, etc.)?
Pistol match in my Ruger 22/45 Lite shoots around half the size of groups I can print with other decent bulk stuff off hand at 25m with a red dot.
Decent bulk would include Norma TAC22, Aguila and CCI offerings; ~3-4" 10 round groups.
Pistol match ~ 2" 10 round groups.

At 25 + meters in a pistol, it performs better than me most days.
