At $38.99 though that's 78 cents per shot before taxes.
Close to a buck per shot would get very costly. I bought Lapua Center X 22 LR ammo for $20.00 per box of 50 rounds. Including our 12% BC tax. Even found it at a local gunsmith in Creston for the same price the other day.
At close to $1.00 per round, it could weed out a lot of rimfire shooters.
From my testing, I did not see any noticeable difference between X-Act and Center-X at indoor 50 yards. However, that was with only one box each and from select rifles. If there were any realistic / practical MOA improvement, it was so minuscule that I would say it's not worth the price difference.
I cannot speak on how the comparison is like across all rifles though - YMMV (as all 22LR shooters know). But I felt Center-X was plenty good enough for what I want and the price jump to X-Act was not necessary - but again, that is my personal opinion and testing. I love, LOVE Center-X. Someone else's rifle may show significant difference. In mine, I couldn't even tell.
