Having recently gotten screwed by purchasing a non-restricted 9mm carbine that became prohibited post purchase because of it's color (black) and is now confined to my gun safe, my unanswerable question is, will it ever be safe to purchase a semi-auto firearm again in Canada?? :(

Unfortunately it not "safe" to buy any firearms in Canada, like it or not the Liberal government wants them all out of law abiding owners.
But that being said we should not be afraid to use our hard earned money to buy something that we enjoy just because criminals give us all a bad name.

If you can buy something that you like do it and use and enjoy the shooting sports.

LOL, this entire situation is utterly pathetic, Here we are, fretting that an over & under .12ga shotgun might be "too aggressive" for the anti's and their ban-hammer. The truth of the matter is that aside ffrom the Henry Homesteader in 9mm, those horrific Turkish "hunting" rifles in .223 and .308, a few legacy hunting rifles (Browning BAR) and some rimfire rifles, that's it, that''s all there is left to choose from for center-fire semi-automatic firearms in Canada. We have been quite literally cast back to the late 1800s in terms of permitted firearms technology within Canada. The situation in which we find ourselves is both laughably ludicrous and manifestly unacceptable. No other consumer product is delberately held back from technological advancement for safety, ease of use and overall comfort and convenience. It is insane.

The government's behaviour towards firearms owners has earned nothing whatsoever in the way of my cooperation with an ever-increasingly draconian firearms elimination system. As a result I'em not going to lift so much as a single lazy finger to assist them with their seizure of my personal property. If the government wants my guns, their agents will have to come to my home and collect them along with their spare parts. I'm disabled and incapable of bringing my prohbited, formerly restricted firearms to wherever the government's "fvck gun owners" drop-off station happens to be located. So there's that. With AB's regulations governing a maximum of 3 firearms per vehicle, that ought to require approximately 25-30 vehicle trips to my home. That's will be the start to my personal program of passive resistance. Oh, and it is cash on the barrel. No gun leaves my house without cash or a cheque in my hand for the full, current, market value....

I have as of yet not received a registered letter from the RCMP......always getting junk mail from god knows where that I just toss in the woodstove.....

Just buy a 'good 22LR semi' and hope you can get a few years b4 they ban them, too. Or just buy bolt actions, good for a little longer ?

With AB's regulations governing a maximum of 3 firearms per vehicle that’s not a thing in AB for us is it? I definitely take more then that almost every time I go out 🤣

Nope, not for us - the rule only applies to Licensed "Seizure Agents" operating in the Province of AB at some point in the indefinite future. Oh, BTW - the AB government apparently has zero intention of granting any Seizure Agent licenses in the first place, so the 3 guns per vehicle limitation may just prove to be irrelevant.....

Have a read of the AB Firearms Act. Some of it is quite devious in its methods of making life difficult for those who wish to seize our personal property. Good for a giggle.
