.260 Remington

Was just reading a thread on another sight where a few guys are making 260 brass from 277 Fury cases, and jacking up pressures accordingly. 2940 fps with 144 gr bullets. That's about as fast as my first 264 Win Mag and certainly equals every 6.5-06 I ever used. Interesting. - dan
Interesting. My opinion is worth about what you paid for it, but I don't get wanting to run at those kinds of pressures. Way more difficult to tune the load and certainly hard on barrels. I would simply go back to a 6.5-284 and know I was going to be tossing the barrel in about 1000 rounds :)

Were they able to get their hands on the military hybrid steel base Fury brass somehow? Because the consumer market 277 fury brass seems to just be standard pressure large primer brass. (it's almost like SIG is begging for another lawsuit with that one...)

Better off to use small primer brass if trying to push it, lots of us shooting that at well above the 80k/psi and getting good life out of it.

But then again I was using regular large primer 260 lapua brass with 139's scenars and was shooting them around 2900fps with N160 and had some room left to go. When I put that barrel on a new action/stock I'll neck down some palma brass and try it out with CCI450's.

According to the write up it was the hybrid steel cases. No idea where they got them though. - dan
