Bought a old used baikal 12ga for 150$ as a trap gun and i think its badass. Havent shot lower than 16 yet so its doin alright for good and chaep

Oh I'm not ####ting on baikals, absolutely nothing wrong with them. In fact I plan to buy one myself soon, still deciding whether I want to try an OU or a SxS though.
I was just pointing out that they're not nearly as available in 20ga as they are in 12.
Sorry didnt think you were shi[[ing on them. I agree theres lots of 12s. Just wanted to reiterate the 12s function well and probly as good as a 20
Berettas warrenty is some of the worst there is in this country. Doesn't stop me from buying one. Same as used atv. There's someone out there that can fix them if they break

Yeah as far as warranty on a firearm goes I don't even take that into consideration when choosing something to purchase. Most warranty claims, unless they are really serious are much easier handled by a local gunsmith without the shipping cost, time without your firearm and general hassle of getting anything out of the manufacturer. Most issues I've had with new firearms that I've had I just fixed myself.

Whatever you do DONT buy a churchil. They cannot handle any sort of heavy loads. I ran some 3" magnum shells, ONE TIME, and it broke the sear so the gun started firing both barrels at the same time. Catastrophic failure. Sent it in for repair and sold it immediately after that. Honestly your best bet is to buy once cry once.. Beretta 686 silver pigeon
I own two Canuck O/U (1 in 20 ga and 1 in .410) and they are really great guns.
Literally took the words out of my mouth. When buying a double gun you can have good or you can have cheap. But you can't have both. And when I say good, I don't only mean that it won't break. Being built like a tank isn't necessarily a good thing with 2 barrelled guns, if it's the only thing.

Any gun can break, some just more than others.
On the other hand some guns are built to last for thousands upon thousands of rounds and others are not. Quality cost money so the ones that are built to last cost more.

Yes but Beretta is not a price point brand like most of the Turkish brands. Good warranty service is less of an issue with higher quality brands than the price point brands as warrantable issues are less likely on a Beretta vs a Huglu (for example) I would expect. While I have a Huglu hammer classic and a CZ bobwhite (both made in the same factory) and both work well, if I had known there was no warranty centre in Canada, I may not have bought them. Then again, I bought a Canuck (for my son for his birthday) than was flawed and recieved zero satisfaction from their warranty department. I will never buy another one of those, not because it had issues but because of the poor response to the issue.
I've seen a few guns go to canuck for warrenty. All came back quick and fixed. Service was great. As for beretta I've had to get Mastercard to push fraud charges to have an issue resolved. My 4 huglus are way better fit and finish than my 4 berettas
I like the berettas don't get me wrong but if a problem arises they'll go to a gunsmith not back to stoeger
I also buy vintage double guns that were hand made. There's no warrenty and no parts available
In today's age of cnc machining I care less about the nationality of the person pushing a button. If what I want is being offered for a price I can justify I buy it
Every make can have its duds. My buddy’s sitting on a beretta extrema (yes an auto not a double) which has a broken bolt. Broken clean in two with only factory ammo - obviously a manufacturing or metallurgical defect. Beretta has completely hung him out to dry. No parts or service.
I middled a deal a little while ago for a friend, he bought a cased Browning superposed 1966 vintage field gun off one of our CGN members here.
He shot it tonight for the first time , broke 9 then after a few tips , broke 17 with it.
I shot a few rounds out of it , and I can tell you , for what he paid for it ( less than most newer entry level O/U's), it was well worth it!
I have a bit of a thing for FN Superposed's however, so I am a bit biased in that regard

I've had more than a few Superposed shotguns over the years and I'm a big fan however they do have their drawbacks. Parts are not that hard to find in the US but most of them have to be hand fitted since the guns were for the most part hand made. Finding a smith that can do the work for you are getting harder to find than the parts are still, I wouldn't let that stop me from buying another Super in fact I've been looking for one in 20 gauge for a long time. It's easy enough to find one with 26 inch barrels but the 28 inch Super's seem to be a lot harder to come by.
