How do you cooperate when their "problems" are made up? The fentanyl thing was widely discredited as an example - less than 1% of it is coming from Canada. Not only that, but in response to the first round of tariffs we DID promise to spend more on the border. How'd that go? Oh yeah, MORE TARIFFS!
It's all made up bull####, that's why no deal has been made, there's nothing to actually negotiate, unless you think our very sovereignty is up for negotiation. Besides, Trump doesn't work that way. To him every deal has a clear winner and loser, theres no such thing as a mutually beneficial deal, there's no such thing as cooperation for the good of both sides.
As for my use of y'all, I just like the word. Anything you read from me using that word is you over thinking - or more likely you projecting.
Ok, fair enough, I didn't take you as a Y'all type, but it just goes to show you how close we are to the Americans. Their cultural influence is strong on Canadians as you have illustrated. We have a lot in common despite the current Anti-American or Anti-Orange sentiments.
It's probably not possible to Save America from it's decline, but the fact is Canadians should be rooting for anyone trying because we are currently heavily dependant on them.
Maybe you thought Biden/Harris was doing a better job with the border etc and were making America great in a better way then the Orange guy.... who knows? No one is perfect and at the end of the day it's not going to be politicians that save us from ourselves.
Some anti progressive people prefer more progressive nonsense simply to speed up the collapse, I'm not in that camp but I understand their position.
As to the everything is "made up" part.... my cousin died from Fentanyl and I hear a few others in Canda have as well.
You might not think we have a Fentanyl problem, or that Cartel's have moved in recently, or that a fraction of cargo is inspected at our ports of entry.... but that doesn't really change what is happening.
Co-operation is not easy that's for sure and it's not just people like yourself and Trump that stand in the way of thinking it's possible.
Many other Countries have been dealing with Trump's Trade disruption better then Canada..... the first easy step is to act like adults and not spoiled brats.
Sure the Liberals eventually promised to "invest" in the border but it was only after they spewed out your nonsense that there is no problem with Canada's borders and that Trump is a liar.
Trump is over the top with many statements and exaggerates everything.... his political opponents have been trying to use that against him for 8 years. Doesn't work...... and yet here we are with people like yourself parroting the same nonsense like it's going to suddenly be effective.
Instead of repeating mistakes it's time to try new approaches for those capable of adapting to change and thinking outside their bubble.
