You'll see them alot. Like every range Ive ever been too, is littered with surplus 762x39 steel case rounds. People feel that since they are steel cased and non reloadable, that they don't need to be picked up.

Often see them with a green finish too.

I take my kids to the range in the early spring usually to gather all the stuff these guys leave laying around. They get the $$ from the metal Recycler. I get all the decent brass worth cleaning up and re loading or selling for cheap.
 
Yeah lots of ashholes leave their brass behind.
Very disrespectful.
I collect the 357 and 9mm every time I'm at the range. I have filled 5gal bucket 1/4 of the way up with 9mm alone.

Same. Trochu rifle and pistol has 9mm/.40sw/.45 EVERYWHERE. I can usually pick brass in between firings to let me barrel cool. Whenever people are around they look at my funny cause I’m cleaning up.
 
At our range we have a 'rolling magnet' from Princess - about $40. RO uses it to pick up all the steel-case that persons too lazy to get the mag from the tool shed leave laying around. Usually only 40-50 rounds unless it's 'youngsters' with more dollars . . . , then a couple hundred 'red boxes' worth :rolleyes: .

Called a brass goblin, I sweep through regularly. I got a couple 100 9mm cases (that are not crimped) today. During worker bees I bring my HD magnet to clean up this stuff.

I've actually been given grief over cleaning brass up, to reload. It shows they don't think about just the cost of brass for reloading. Most centerfire rifle brass is running about 1 buck apiece, my 338 LM is getting close to 2.50$ per. If I can trade sell swap for my uses I'll do it.

Nailed it. I find so much 3006,6.5cm,.270 and 30/30 brass. I don’t shoot 6.5 or .270 but it’s still worth it to pick it up!
