Help me find a Beretta 1301 Tactical Mod 2 ( FOUND ONE )

Now, what brought a tear to my eye...Choke Tubes. If yours was like mine it came with a flush mount Cylinder Bore Optima HP silver tube.
I mounted a flashlight which also sits flush so I decided I wanted a slight extension and went shopping at Stoeger for Beretta branded choke tubes. I ended up with a DLC 7/8" extended (also knurled) Cylinder Bore, and a matching Modified.
*Interestingly Beretta states that slugs shouldn't be shot through it's Modified choke tube and the only restriction a slug should be shot through is an Improved Cylinder. This caused me to research different slugs and types of slugs and their advertised outer diameter vs. the advertised restriction on an Optima HP Modified, and suffice to say, I don't believe Beretta. All "should" be fine. Find out tomorrow. ;)

The choke tubes are like $150 per (taxes and shipping), but are the best of the best. I use neverseize as thread grease btw.

Yes, as soon as it arrives, I’ll be changing the Choke tube and the handguard, while adding a mag tube extension.

Easier on the wallet.

Sounds like Stoeger has been stocking up big box stores at the expense of the smaller shops.

The 1301 Mod 2’s are not distributed by Stoeger. They are brought into Canada via grey market means, and are not supported by Warranty with Stoeger.

I'm fairly certain there are Stoeger distributed 1301s Mod2s based on Tacord getting my base gun from them. That said, I do know that to be true for the Mod 2 handguard.

ya they have the updated lifter and trigger. So just missing the mod 2 handguard and magazine extension

1301 tactical yes…….Mod 2’s no. That thread isn’t about the Mod 2 version

The Mod 2 is a US made version
He is quite literally referring to the Mod2s that they shipped to Cabelas but not S&J. You think Cabelas is selling gray market Berettas without warranty?!

No. I too was confused by this and contacted Stoeger for clarification.

The US made Beretta 1301 tactical Mod 2, has a different front handguard with mlok slots at 3,9, and 6, as well as a mag tube extension.

The Italian made Beretta 1301 tactical Mod 2, the ones available in Canada are imported by Stoeger for the Canadian market. The handguard and stock are Beretta and the magazine is rated for 5 rounds of 2 3/4. With an aftermarket extension, 5.9, 3" shells bring the extension flush with the barrel (S&J make a great one).

Though very different from OEM outward appearance, both guns are functionally the same and are indeed both 1301T Mod 2's.

Ridiculous response from Stoeger on my question about stock availability on the 1301 Mod 2. Jesus……just because it doesn’t come with the handguard and mag extension……..it’s still a bloody Mod 2.

Exactly. It is indeed a Mod 2. As the Italian's intended it to be.

Someone in the gun trade industry can explain the phenomenon, but we here in Canada seem to be relegated to getting guns from Europe and China, more so than America.
Glocks (when we could get them) were predominantly Austrian ones. It wasn't until Gen 4 or 5 that Glocks from Georgia came up here in any numbers.
IWI Tavor's. We would get the Israeli made ones and models, the American made ones, seemed to largely stay on that side of the border. These Berretta's are following the same old song. Stoeger brings them in from Italian factories, and forgo the American made ones. The explanation I was given was an economic reason. He told me that due to our dollar, tariffs, and red tape bureaucracies, if Stoeger were to purchase from the Americans, there would either be no profit left for them, or the cost would put the guns out of anyone's reach and shrinking the market.

I don't know that I believe him. Places like I Run Guns seem to be making a go of bringing us American hardware, and they're much smaller than Stoeger.

I just imported a 1301 ODG MOD 2 from IRG. Ordered an ODG extension tube from S&J with a barrel clamp. Can't wait to take it out to the range 😁

For some reason when they sell these in Canada, they don't come with the proper handguard.

PS: I didn't pay any tariff's on this because it says that its made in Italy on the receiver.

Does your handguard say Beretta on it?

I did the same thing... Except I bought an improved cylinder and modified both 20mm extended with the DLC coating. Haven't tried them yet but I'm sure slugs will be no problem out of the modified... I love me some slugs 😍

They're awesome, slugs no problem.

I struggled, because they are expensive for what they are, as to whether or not omit a DLC cylinder bore and just step it down to an IC and M.

I opted to stay with C, for two reasons both of them being buckshot. I haven't patterned for buckshot yet, but 1) I believe if I'm shooting Federal Flight control, the restricted IC may actually open up the pattern, and 2) when not shooting Federal Flight control, within 25-30 yards, there is next to no pattern differences between the C and IC choke tubes.

Currently, the Mod choke tube lives in the 1301 and life is good. It may be wearing excessively with slugs, I don't think so, but I'm prepared to acknowledge it. When I pattern flight control and regular buck, if the Mod choke is too restrictive and causing flyers or opening up of the patterns, I may opt for an IC and see if there is any notable difference between it and Cylinder bore.

OR, you could save me, and countless gunutters $150.00 and let us know if you find any discernment between C and IC when shooting buck?

edit, I notice an apparent paradox...understand that I am shooting trap (bird loads 7.5) with mod, and slugs at plates. The modified choke does not open the pattern with bird shot, it makes the game a little more challenging and really hits the clays with authority when I connect.
