Seconding this, I am a fan of the Swiss Keg-style bolt handles.

Is it possible to build one of these in 7.62x39 with a short barrel? Wheres a good source for such a barrel anyway?

Yes! Sorry, I was quoting an online article that said 45-70 Govt , but that is incorrect, it is 45-70 Auto.

Interested? The real trick will be finding a barrel chambered for the 45-70 Auto that has an AR-style barrel extension to mate to the receiver., and then the AR-pattern bolt and magazine for this caliber.

For some of these caliber conversions, it's sourcing the parts that is the hardest.

Would be pretty cool with a nice short barrel! Sometimes I think finding the parts is the funnest part of the project!
