Hold the bolt closed, then manually eject, this will help prevent jams.

You’re going to need somewhere close to 1000fps.
I’ve tinkered with mine on this very thought.

loading it as a single shot would be a trick in its self
why would you even want to use a short in the first place browning made a version that used 22 short only

Mine will cycle 750s but the accuracy stinks. I could do better throwing a handful of rocks

I've tried mine with CCI Quiet's, and its about 90% reliable. It'll cycle most of the time, with the odd stovepipe. I don't have any shorts to try out.

The breech bolt is lighter weight, milled to remove metal. There may be other changes but I don't recall.

Browning don’t even make SA in 22 short anymore. Think it was called a “gallery gun”

The nicest of the Browning 22 sa variants, in my view, is the little Remington M24. It has the cleanest lines and slimmest profile of this group of rimfires. I have one in 22 short and it even works perfectly with 22 CBs. If these are selling for that much....I'm tempted.
