The BEST Straight-Pull Rifle in Canada - Maple Ridge Armoury

Yes! Sorry, I was quoting an online article that said 45-70 Govt , but that is incorrect, it is 45-70 Auto.

Interested? The real trick will be finding a barrel chambered for the 45-70 Auto that has an AR-style barrel extension to mate to the receiver., and then the AR-pattern bolt and magazine for this caliber.

For some of these caliber conversions, it's sourcing the parts that is the hardest.
Would be pretty cool with a nice short barrel! Sometimes I think finding the parts is the funnest part of the project!

FAQ: What does MK II mean?

Mk II stands for "Mark 2" and this is indicating that it is the second version of this design. The 'Mark One' Renegade did not have a bolt hold-open, while the Mk II does have this feature (the Maverick rifle has always had this feature).

Seconding this, I am a fan of the Swiss Keg-style bolt handles.

Is it possible to build one of these in 7.62x39 with a short barrel? Wheres a good source for such a barrel anyway?
Yes these can be built in 7.62x39 in any length you can find (as long as the overall length when in firing configuration is over 26").

You will need to source a barrel, a bolt and magazines specific to this caliber; all other parts are standard. There are several Canadian companies providing barrels (RDSC or IBI etc).

Can you make one that works on AICS and for 6.5 creedmoor?
No, sorry. The whole purpose of this rifle is to be as compatible as possible with the AR pattern rifles. Switching to AICS is not something being considered at this time as it would require a complete redesign engineering work and product development for a platform that already works as it is.
