Well I’m a bit bored so let’s see if we can liven things up a BIT 🤪

So I like to use different bullets sometimes to see the Results . 🤷‍♂️

Just gonna try a new bullet in my 6.5 CM deer hunting rifle and I am trying to decide which out of these 2 bullets I might use . The Hornady 130 CX or the Barnes 127 LRX . Both shoot equally “ Well “ from my UL Rifle at 2800 fps plus .
Also there is a chance on a moose in the same area as well as a Black bear too .

I have experienced Kills with a LRX bullet in a different cartridge and it worked Excellent but never killed any thing with a CX yet 🤷‍♂️

So what you 6.5 CM Guys think 🤔 😀

Don’t give a phuck hearing about other bullets or weights ! 🥸

I personally havent used a CX but a guy in our hunting group runs the 140 CX in his 6.5-300 and himself and another guy in our group daughter used that setup for elk last fall and they both had great success. Both bulls required no tracking.

Barnes has a good reputation and has never let me down. Don't think you can go wrong either way.

Heres a good video of a ballistics gel test of the 120gr CX, however he doesn't state what distance the gel was at but the results are impressive. I'd think a 130gr going little faster then what he has in the video would be just fine for whatever you're going to use it for Jim.

A buddy of mine hunted with CX in his 6.5 cm for a few deers. He had to go looking for the ones he shot. And was disappointed with the narrow wound channels he found. I remember him honestly asking me if he should go back to .308win.

I recommended a different bullet, and invited him over to reload a few (he had never reloaded before). Now he blows golf ball sized holes in deer with his CM and is super happy with the chambering.

Of yer 2 choices there RJ, I'd lean toward the Barnes, but they seem to perform best at higher velocities.

if it were me; 102gr Apex Afterburner (presently on sale) 99gr Hammer Hunter, or if you're really crazy 97gr Absolute Hammer.

These copper bullets have no issue with penetration, send em light and send em fast for best results says I 🤙

The 127 LRX is a winner.
Never liked the CX much in my 243 so i havent tried it in the CDM.

I have shelved my Barnes this year too and will be trying Cutting Edge offerings in 3 calibres. 308, 6.5 Grendel, and 243. They were easier ti get my hands on then the hammers.

They promise better performance at lower speeds.
