Lockhart renegade semi auto conversion

I like the idea, sometimes you have to circumvent stupid laws with stupid workarounds

Seems like a hassle that you have to source your own AR 15 parts for the conversion tho, wish they sold complete conversions instead

I think the whole point for Lockhart is that THEY won't have any skin in the game.
They're making sure that YOU take the fall, and Maple Ridge Armory gets THEIR rifle banned.

Lockhart just walks away.

Only reason why theyre implying that rcmp says it is legal to do the conversion. Is to insure they walk away and cannot be held responsible. Again people are failing to notice that LH is making their own Renegade clone, BUT not using their own for the conversions.

How do you know this?

It's not a clone. The "Conspiracy" rifle is actually modular system that's going to have pump, lever and straight pull variants.

He says in the video on page 9 that according to the law they can't design a new semi-auto rifle. But they can legally modify a rifle NOT designed to be semi-auto... Or something like that.

####ed up laws we have...

You think he came up with the main action himself? He just designed a linkage to operate the bolt differently. Then why isnt he doing it to his own products?

Once a semi-auto version of the Renegade is made, it will be given an FRT. What classification do you think the FRT will get?

It puts all straight pull rifles that use AR parts at risk, and for what? They’ll only get a handful of customers, this isn’t a money maker.

Because (as Shaun from ATRS pointed out) when he does it with someone else's product it's clearly a modification. With his own rifle there's no clear line where manufacturing stops and modification begins.

Yeah. That's completely made up by Lockhart.
There's no such law.

Let's say a company came out with a conversion kit to make a lever action into a semi auto. Would that put all lever actions at risk of being classed as prohibited? Somehow I don't think so. If not then why would the Renegade be at risk?

Sitting back waiting for someone to tell me that it's not possible to make a lever action into a semi-auto .........................

For now.

What do you think the gun control people's take will be on this?

And before anyone gets pissy, I don't mind what people do around this and I am always happy to have more options but you don't have to look too hard to see that any semi auto in Canada is in a precarious place.

IF RCMP really are stupid enough to ban one gun based upon a modification made to that gun by a third party, then I say someone needs to build a SA conversion of a Lee Enfield and dare them to ban all the millions of LE's in the country. If the RCMP want to play stupid games ....... 🤷‍♂️
That’s not the issue here.

The Renegade is not an AR-15 variant because of the inability for it to fire semi-auto. Once you manufacture the receiver to fire semi-auto, it’s far more of an AR-15 variant than the Mossberg 715t.
