Just wondering if anyone has bought powder that required to be shipped lately. Last time I recieved powder shipping was normal shipping rate (around $30) plus a hazmat fee of $25 or $30. Tried to order powder from a retailer Im Ontario and the “shipping calculated at checkout” came to just under $400 (so I cancelled the order). This was for 9lbs. Has shipping changed that much in the last 3 years???

The cost of components is the main reason many people are getting out of handloading, taking up flying RC airplanes or some other hobby instead. When I started powder was $1.75 per lb, back in the dark ages.

May 2025, 2kg of powder, Alberta to BC was total $58 for hazard shipping. Totally reasonable.

I wish I could go back and few years and stock up on Canada Ammo's powders. I bought quite a bit at the time but would have got more if I knew what was coming.

Guy I found on gp based in winnepeg is where I get almost all my reloading powders and primers. He's local enough for me, but he also ships I think. Good prices. No tax.

Why not (op) just go to your local gun shop and buy some or contact Budget Shooter Supply ?
