Nah, 34 was more complicated to build and maintain. The 42 was the perfect GPMG and set the foundation for future machineguns. It’s why the MG3 carried on into the future and the 34 didn’t.

lots of parts to keep track of and clean but i have stripped mine down many times . all the parts are cast rather than stamped but accuracy is very good on semi auto. my gun has eaten up a few belts over the years, i could have purchased a 42 but the 34 caught my eye .

Making something easier to build doesn't necessarily make it better for the user... Would you pick the 34 or the 43 to defend the Atlantic Wall?
