Russian ones from the last decade have been BBQ paint garbage, all the Russians worth the price were sold long ago. Almost all the new import chinese ones are unissued, brand new, chrome bores with bluing and the stocks dont looks like they thrown from an apartment window hitting every branch of the ugly tree on the way down.

100% this. In general the Russian ones may have been better made, but the only ones left on the market now are clapped out and heavily refurbed.

$625 for a Chinese is close to outrageous ... and I bet they FLY off the shelves. 🤷‍♂️ Buy now or buy never.

Probably hard to find a mint condition unmolested true non-refurb Russian, but you can find an unissued chinese french tickler model pretty easy for around $600 and I think the majority are done well...I like em they're worth grabbing :)
 
The minister made it pretty clear today the Sks is off the table. What’s her name said something different but she is just there as a token. I am now entirely confident the buyback will be extended long into the next government. Unless you’re a coaster maybe
