I've been putting in the time and miles, looking to get my bull moose. Seen lots of cows and calves, mule deer, whitetails, but no bull yet.

So when this guy stepped in front of me at 80 yards only 35 minutes after I sat down, what was I going to do?

Another 5x5, not as big as the one I got last year, but a solid mature buck. Shot in the same field I got the last one, with the .338 Federal again. He was behind a little rise, that's why I took him a touch high, it's what I could see. But, double lung, he ran maybe 25 yards.

I guess I won't be freezing my ass off in a stand come November! Now, just gotta get my moose...

Classic Alberta 5X5. Sometimes ya just can't say no while out for other critters. Well done!

Whitetail is a general tag, rifle season from September 17 till end of November. My moose draw, that I've waited 7 years for, is early season September 24 till October 31st and is specific to one WMU zone.
