They are said to be the best push feed action made, reliable, accurate! That said I never owned one but would love one in 30-06…Thanks for the responses! How good are they? Such as function and accuracy? Thanks!
Husky Action ! EXCELLENT quality and fairly light too . My 280AI is built on one . SORRY actually mine is a 1600 series !Thanks for the responses! How good are they? Such as function and accuracy? Thanks!
Like others said, Husqvarna 1900 or a follow on: Karl Gustav 1900, Antonio Zolli 1900. I can only speak in superlatives about this action. I own one of the original Husqvarna production ones in 6.5x55 (6.5 swede) and it's an amazing hunting and range toy.View attachment 1020228I located this rifle and would like to know where this action originated from, or maker? Thanks!
Depend on what you consider better, they are completely different actions, the 1900 is not based on a mauser 98 action, it is a true push feed, super like reallly slick action/bolt, some say the slickest of the slicks!!Is the 1900 much better that the husky 1640's or the 96's ? I've read that they're an awesome rifle.
Curious is all ?
I've had a couple of 1640's and half a doz 96's in my time, mannn I sure loved them old 96's in 6.5x55 !!
Sold /traded my last one about 7 or 8 yrs ago. Had a beautiful Rhinehart Fajen(?) stock on it. Gettin old and failing health sure sucks !!
It was meant to be a simpler, cheaper action designed to allow Husqvarna to compete with the Rems and Wins coming out at the time (1969 onward). In simplifying the action, they actually built something unique and amazing. They're glass smooth, lighter than the 1640 in a given caliber and much quieter to cycle - in fact when properly oiled, you can rack the bolt with barely a click. Is the 1900 much better that the husky 1640's or the 96's ? I've read that they're an awesome rifle.

Some background, if you are inerested:After receiving great responses, I conducted more research into the Husqvarna 1900 action. Apparently Husqvarna was the creator of the 1900 action, (first version), followed by Carl Gustaf, Viking and the fourth/last version is/was Zoli. I cannot recall reading anything negative about any of the aformentioned gunmakers, however unfortunate that Husqvarna dose not still exist.
Thanks alot for this information, most interesting. I never tried the 1900 action, let along picked-up a Husqvarna. The Vo Vaapen appear to be a very expensive rifle, especially made by a master gunmaker. Some background, if you are inerested:
Stuart Otteson, "The Bolt Action, Vol. II":
"If prizes were awarded in firearms design, this Carl Gustaf rifle [the version of the 1900 action he analyzed] would surely be at or near the top in the category of commercial bolt actions. The short lifespan of what Eric Cläesson described as the "pearl" of FFV's sporting arms line is thus particularly ironic and regrettable....it was overall a refreshingly sound and well-balanced action, crisp and uncluttered, and embodying consummate good taste. It exuded precision and workmanship, and functioned with a smoothness rare in modern rifles."
Also, although Antonio Zoli no longer makes rifles, there is a compoany VO Vapen, whish still makes high end custom rifles based on this action (founded by one of the original gunsmiths who designed it)

You are welcome. I shoot down in Milo. I can let you know when I'm headed down, and can show you the 1900 first hand if you like. PM me if you are interested. Thanks alot for this information, most interesting. I never tried the 1900 action, let along picked-up a Husqvarna. If they discontinued it, it must be very recent news. I do see the 1900 is no longer on the Zoli website… Since they made the actions for VO Vapen, that would mean the end of production when they empty the stockpile. Some background, if you are inerested:
