The number of captured bring backs to Canada was prolific, yet it seems a bit of a collectors vacuum here. Are the Canadian rules different now?

Hard to say,
I'm pretty sure this government knows the buy back will fail. They don't care, once they try it, get everyone worked up so that they can then ram grandfathering down everyone's throat on the ioc prohibs. For some reason Canada swallows it. Pretty terrible.

No change. Live auto is 12-2, converted to semi or manual is 12-3, dewat is dewat. Live guns are still transferrable to holders of 12-2 or-3 as the case may be. RCMP will not deregister a 2 or 3 when deactivated unless it is done to their specs, which means one solid lump, no moving internal parts.
