Bulk powder order. Any one interested?

Hi,
Are you shocked at the prices we are now paying for powder? So am I.
I am intending to make a bulk powder order from Higginson's Powder, who stock Hodgson, IMR and Winchester powders. Their prices are quite reasonable and all orders over 21 lbs are with free shipping, plus one hazmat fee. I am going to order approx 13lbs for myself so the question is : Does anyone in the vicinity of Nanaimo/Victoria want to join me and make it at least a 21 lb order. I live in the Cowichan Valley and am prepared to pay up front for the total order. Once the order arrives, we can get together and split up the individual orders
If anyone is genuinely interested and I mean genuinely because I do not want anyone dropping out after they have ordered, give me an IM and we can discuss the finer points.

Sounds like a good idea, wish i lived near as i would def. go in with you.....but on second thought....I'm glad i don't live in Lotus land.
 
When portioning this out among several buyers you'd best have an accurate digital or balance beam scale and a supply of suitable containers that can be clearly marked.
The last guy to take his share out of a Higginson 10 pound bag might be a bit choked to find he's a few oz. short. Really upset if the IMR 4831 got in an H4831 marked container.

Have been involved with 3 group buys from Higginsons...Not sure what issues you've had but when say different people want the same powder but different amount of pounds of it ..it as simple as the " guy ordering it " just specifying he wants it in 1 lb...2 lb etc. containers for one guy and in a say 5 lb container for some other guy. Have never had a situation where a bag of powder had to be opened and weighed out in increments to fellow buyers.

As stated ..its up to the guy ordering to specify in what amounts of weight the powder should be packaged in.

Thanks for that. That is exactly what I intend to do, so there will be no weighing or splitting the powder into separate containers. What they order, they will get. Sounds pretty simple to me.

I guess it depends on quantity and mix. I'd be reluctant to ask Higginson to split 22 pounds of one bulk powder into say 6 packages of different weights. If you were to order it all in 1 pound cans the costs go up. It's still a good deal though, no question.
 
The last time I looked, prices are cheaper at Lawry Shooting Sports (877) 705-0008. Don't forget to order bulk primers at the same time.

Bulk powder/primer order.

Just spoke to Higginson's and everything is going smoothly. Told them I would be sending in the order in a few days.
I inquired about primers and they can be ordered and shipped under the same hazmat charge as the powder. He is running low on primers but has small rifle and a few others on hand. Just in case anyone needs them with the powder.

Higginson will split it anyway you want it, including charging each buyer's VISA for their separate order and still sending the whole order to a single address as a bulk order.

Group powder order.

To all those, (you know who you are) that participated in the group powder/primer order.
Just wanted to thank everyone involved. It worked out to everyone's benefit and to my way of thinking, is the only way to buy powder etc.
