Dead trigger on glock

I was putting my hunting rifle away today and was fondling some of my pistols while in there and took out my Glock 20C and noticed the trigger was absolute garbage.
Spongey and not releasing the firing pin 75% of the time and I was having to bury the trigger to get it to fire.
Anyone ever have this issue before?
Trigger bar??
I stripped it down and nothing is jumping out at me as broke.

That upper pin looks very deeply recessed, has it slipped out of the frame?

We had the exact same problem on the wife's Gen4 17. That trigger had been screwed with by the first owner so we don't know exactly what parts had been installed. The trigger had been fine for years until we began to get misfires and then I realized the trigger had the same problem you are describing.

Took the gun into BlackBox and the reality was we could spend $150 or so having them diagnose the problem and maybe then have to spend some more replacing parts ... or we could just bite the bullet and buy a decent trigger. She ended up choosing a Timney, which is a really impressive trigger in the Glock. It cost a little more but she is super happy with it and I think it was worth the cost.

i went and checked, it was still grabbing but your right it was pushed the to to the one side more than it should have been, i have fixed the issue, trigger is still not working very well.

You'll almost certainly have to order it in, I'm sure somebody would be willing to do it.

Did you take the the trigger housing apart? Is the trigger spring installed correctly? If so, the connector probably doesn't have enough lift/gap away from the trigger housing. Show us pictures of the gap between the connector and the trigger housing. It should not sit completely flat against the trigger housing.

The only time I have ever seen this was due to a small burr on the firing pin safety plunger. Step one is to completely strip and detail clean the firearm. While doing so, inspect everything. I am willing to bet it is the firing pin safety plunger. Gummed up channel , burr or weak spring.

The only time I have ever seen this was due to a small burr on the firing pin safety plunger. Step one is to completely strip and detail clean the firearm. While doing so, inspect everything. I am willing to bet it is the firing pin safety plunger. Gummed up channel , burr or weak spring.

Except we had the exact same problem as the OP and it had nothing to do with the firing pin safety, in fact we didn't even touch that part. The Timney trigger solved the problem.

You did not solve any problem. You replaced the entire trigger system with a new one LOL. That's like finding an oil leak and replacing the engine! job well done, oil leak fixed.

after doing some looking around i have found an after market trigger that looks like it will fit the bill.
i think im gonna take the weekend and strip the pistol right down and crawl through it and give it a good cleaning and inspect all the parts for wear and weakness due to age.
if i find something i find something, i will fix and see if that get the old girl back working.
if not ill order up one of the replacement triggers.
from what i was reading online it seems like the G20 and G40 both suffer from bad triggers just due to the large frame that Glock made for the 10mm platform.
im gonna dig out my G40 and have a look at it as well to see if its similar.

I don't know if any of you have had an opportunity to fondle a G40 but they are MASSIVE pistols.
sorry, i should say the G20 is a massive pistol compared to normal glocks (17) and the G40 dwarfs the G20.
what with the added width and length on the grip, the pistols are just huge.
then add on a after market threaded barrel and a comp, flared mag well and a red dot with some suppressor high iron sites and your massive pistol becomes a GIANT!

Agreed! Unfortunately, that's how a lot of people "fix" things these days, lol. Glocks are so simple to fix. It rarely takes more than one small part or slight modification.

Look at the reviews on the triggertech glock trigger. If they haven't done a full recall yet, I would be shocked. Incredibly unsafe

Man I absolutely love that G40. I have a gen 3 glock 20 sf. I have never handled a G40 though.

100%. I like learning and getting to the bottom of a problem to see what makes something tick... Or not. I built an Ar15 years ago with the absolute cheapest parts available just to see what exactly mattered. Where did you need to spend money and where could you save money. It was a fun experience

I have a Triggertech, and there are three options. Panic and drop the gun on the range floor; continue shooting until their lawyer suggested replacement kit is available; or carry on and remember that the world is run by stupid people who believe on line reviews.

Looks like they are offering to buy them back so you have another option . Also, video testing of the product and its failures are not really just an online review.
