1911 advice - help me choose

I am still dithering over which high-end 1911 to purchase. I appreciate quality, and I demand stone-cold reliability in my guns. Being the mindless follower that I am, I need my CGN brethren to tell me how to spend my money. Which one should I buy (price is not a consideration - just quality and reliability), and why?

Other choices

The nice people at Sig make the P226X5 and P226X6. Both are top end, and have 1911 controls.
Rock River Arms makes a top end 6" 1911 that is very nice.
The STI people make the TargetMaster in 1911. Also very nice.
Why custom make one when the above guys make terrific products?

I recently acquired a GRP which is very nice.....in fact, I like it so much I'm putting in an order for one of the Vickers models as well.
Personally, I don't think that there's much to choose between the high end manufacturers........

Out of your choices I would go with Wilson Combat. I'm also surprised you ruled out Nighthawk.

Wilson....except I'd opt for a CQB. The CQB is the pinnacle of reliability.

But if reliability is your main concern....Les Baer, and it will be as reliable and precise after 20,000 + rounds!

You might think I jest but the Norinco is your best bet!

It will work better than any Springfield(brazillion made)Rock Island (Philipinno made)or What ever! Charles Davies guns!

Real steel =good deal.

I know nothing about 1911's, but I think the Kimber is by far the ###iest.

My vote is for the Wilson if you can afford it.. But the Kimber is the ###iest. Just my 2cents
