I was wondering if someone could educate me on SKS's. Which ones are valuable and why ? I am completely gob smacked at the prices that some folks are asking, curious why so high. Thanks !
 
Its greed nothing but greed mthe importers are greedy the stores are greedy and in turn private sellers se these prices and try and cash. I just sold two minty sks rifles all number matching never fired since there refurb was done for 300.00 each localy and i included 300 rounds of surplus ammo with each rifle i feal i did good comsidering i paid about 150.00 each for the rifles and if i remember correctly about 140.00 bucks for the 1400 rounds of czhck surplus
 
I think retailers aren’t restocking them over fear they will be banned and become dead inventory. This is driving up prices I guess? Any sks in good condition is a good gun.
 
On the market, you have brand new Russian and Chinese SKS

You have refurbs SKS

You have refurb + refurb SKS

And you have poorly refurbs SKS

You have to know the difference before spent big money to buy one. LOL
 
Not sure what the current prices prices are but I've shot some nice Russian ones I wouldn't bat an eye a paying 800 for. They are built tough and great for what they were designed for, accuracy isn't stellar, but better then most people think. Mounting optics is a problem though.
 
These are peasant guns, to quote my old friend Colin. They just work. Three minute of angle at the best of times. But the best part is, no matter how hard the feds scheme to ban them, the definitions just don't work. So, we'll keep shooting these large bore, medium velocity, self-loaders that at cheap to feed for as long as we can.
