Ruag/MFS 7.62x39 FMJ?

Has anyone reloaded any of this stuff? And if so, how did you find the brass?

Costs more than Nork noncorrosive but if its good reloadable brass, thats not terrible.

Least, I wouldn't shoot it in my SKS if I intend to reload it but...lol

It’s good brass. I reload it with mostly cast bullets. Use it in my CZ and a couple SKS’s.

nice, happy to hear that. Was thinking I can buy good brass for half the price, but considering this is already loaded AND its useful brass...its a good deal, especially on sale. By the time you factor in a bullet, primer, powder, and time....

This stuff uses large rifle primers. 7.62x39 is an oddball where you can find cases made for both large rifle and small rifle primers. Stuff that I've found that uses SRP is the Cabela's Herterz brand stuff - it uses Winchester cases and is reasonably priced, though probably not as cheap as this stuff.

So about as inconsistent and inaccurate as any other MFS product I've shot, but loaded in good RUAG brass, or something similar haha.

Agreed on Chinese surplus. Its surprisingly accurate ammo. What holds it back is most SKS being dogsh*t shooters. Well, perfectly up to the intended job, mind. Sorta.

It's more accurate than it has any right to be for the price.. except in the SKS. Though that might be because the Howa has a scope and the SKS has irons, like Stalin intended.

hahaha maybe! Although a nice milsurp like a K31, Swede Mauser, etc isn't a godawful shooter with its irons either

Have used the Howas and Ruger 7.62x39 bolt guns here. Love em both. They're great trainers for bigger game rifles too, bit more pop than a 22lr etc. More of a "real gun" feeling. know what you mean about it being the off gun as well

I've been shooting the MFS Ruag 7.62x39mm ammo since July 2025. Contrary to some opinions above, I think that it is an excellent type of ammo. My range is nominally 100m but the exact distance from the muzzle is 112 yards (measured by a range finder). The results below.
At sale at Tenda, it is definitely less expensive ammo than any brass-case ammo that can be found nowadays on the market. I stashed quite a lot of it for the foreseeable future.
