I know this question has been asked and answered many times, but I still have a hard time finding a gunsmith in the GTA. Does anybody know a gunsmith that can replace a barrel on a Tikka T3X? I have already ordered a pre-fit shouldered barrel so there is no need to cut the chamber. Any help would be much appreciated.

Check with Gagnon sport and ask if their gunsmith could do the barrel swap. Otherwise Ellwood and Epps over Barrie can do it.
Consider to buy a barrel vise and some torque wrench to replace it yourself in the future.

I asked their gunsmith, unfortunately he does not do barrel swaps.

I have been thinking of buying a barrel vise and do it myself. Xtreme Gun Shooting Center in Winnipeg has Viper Barrel Vice and Tikka baction wrench in stock. Does anybody have experience shopping from them?

Ive purchased various things from them, including a viper vice and both an external action wrench (to remove a factory tikka barrel) and there internal wrench for all subsequent barrel swaps. Good products and price’s were good too. Once the vice is clamped/screwed to a workbench, the whole barrel swap took me 15 minutes. Super easy. Feel free to ask here or pm me if you have questions I can help with

Not Toronto but in Kingston... email or call SFRC. They have a gunsmith.

As far as I know, some or a lot of Tikka factory barrel is difficult to take off. Some may need a relief cut and some requires heating.
Mine was a quick job at Ellwood Epps.

If you plan to do it your own, maybe keep eyes on some of the US site for Black Friday deals. You would also need a break bar for uninstall the barrel.
