What pisses me off is that I just made that exact rifle in .350 Rem Mag.
Seen here paired with my .458 WM Carbine.

How do you like that extended floorplate? Do you need a taller mag spring? Everything functions properly?

The Coffin Mag Plate from Alaska Arms, works flawlessly with standard and magnum cartridges using the factory spring. It does not work with the WSM case or short actions. Not many will have the issue that I had which was a .375 WSM built on a long action.

My kimber Montana Whelen is awesome but a little too light. Will have to sell or rebarell that rifle to something else

I bought a tikka T3 9.3x62.. which was OK with chill PPU loads.. then I reloaded it...
An shortly sold the 9.3!

Wonder if this will revive the 35 Whelen? I can't think of any other current production rifles that offer that chambering.

Apparently some states consider primitive rifle season to include center fire.35+ in a single shot rifle. With that in mind 35 Whelen popularity is climbing somewhat

Being a ways down the Prophet River backup list I did a little searching and found one of the 9.3x62’s for sale on Guns International and picked it up. At the end of the day it will cost me close to $500 over Prophet River’s price, but I should have it in 6-8 weeks from now after the export/import process. Given the limited numbers and high demand, this is one of those things one either jumps on immediately or goes without.

In case anyone is interested in going the same route, there is another one in 35 Whelen on GI right now.

Saw that yesterday and I thought nice, really nice. $1500us with exchange and tarifs and import fees and on and on and on, it will be $2500 plus I’m sure!

This is my version of the same rifle, Ruger M77 MKII Stainless/Laminate .350 Rem Mag, 20" Bob Jury barrel, NECG sights, Leupold VX-R 2-7X33mm IR. I guess the only slight (very slight) benefit, is that my version is a Short Action.

Both of these carbines shoot lights out, absolute joy to carry and shoot.

I have sold a few 35 Whelens in the search for the perfect one. I currently run a semi custom kimber in the 35 Whelen. I have had 4 rifles chambered in it I think.
