only weak link I could see was the plastic lips getting worn from repeated loading? :confused:

This is how i remember the events surrounding the eagle 30 rounders for the 597.

1.Hype about them coming out
2.Guys praising them when they first received them.
3.Other guys jumped on and ordered some
4.Mags started splitting/cracking and some feed lips were screwed up
5.Guys returning them to Eagle or pitching them in the garbage
6.Lots of quiet..
 
...I recall 1 thru 5 but from previous searches I gathered that the aforementioned problems were simply teething issues and after the older or "first gen." mags were replaced by the current ones in circulation the feed issues were fixed. :confused: Maybe I'm just being hopeful, however I will NOT be quiet if I have any early failures or issues with this product. I realize I am late getting on the Eagle mag. boat but the simple reason is I waited and researched to avoid buying junk. Time will tell... krak..krak..krak..krak..krak..krak..krak...krak...krak...krak x3

Are you sure you're not referring to the actual factory mags for the 597?

...nope I was definitely referring to the Eagle mags. Posts I have read claimed people were having issues when the mags were first circulated. From what I read Eagle admitted a flaw and redesigned the mags, even shipping some disgruntled owners of the flawed mag an updated one. I believe the relative silence we've been hearing is due to the product being a year or so old now and having few issues.

BTW Cyclone...as a longtime owner/shooter of the 597 platform I know all about the early factory 10 rd. mags and their issues, one or two of those pesky old mags of mine somehow found their way uprange and succumbed to death by firing squad!!! :p

There is talk over on Rimfire Central that these are the exact same mags as the Eagle ones, which could mean that the reason Eagle is no longer making them is because they simply sold the rights on the design to Remington...
