I have had several 308s over the years and they may be ugly but they all shot good.....I have a 6mm coming and am wondering how picky they are in feeding from the 308 based mags? are the 6mm mags longer?
thanks

I’ve had a couple of Rem 788 in 22/250 in the past. Yes, extremely accurate but could never depend on cycling a second or third shot if necessary on a running yote. Passed one down to my son but eventually traded both of them in for something more reliable and MORE pretty. Your 6mm will be an awesome single shot rifle…just kidding!!

Yes, the 6mm mags are different. I've had two 788's in 6mm. Both very accurate rifles for a sporter. - dan

the 6mm rem is based on a 7x57 mauser case like the 257 robert's
it will not feed from a 308 777 mag because the shoulder is farther ahead than than the 308

Nice scoop!
I've got one, mag is definitely different than 308. Stamped 6mm rem on the side of it. I've never had any feeding or loading issues with all the factory and reloads I've fed it.
Mine came with a few old box's of white Winchester super X that shot with pie plate accuracy. Had me nerves until I shot some factory Hornady Superformance in it. Also have tired some reloads that shoot around an 1"
