Opinions on rifle for my son.

Big question would be how much exposure does he have to iron. Just curious. I would agree 243 or 308 so you don’t sour him on recoil. That twitch from even a 30-06 would be enough to ruin shooting for him for awhile. Once he’s comfortable work on the 30-06 or a 280

Even the kick from a 308 can be too much for very young or slight of build IMHO.

I'm looking for a Sav Youth in 243 for my petite daughter in law for that very reason, seems they are scarce as hens teeth at the moment as everything rifle related seems to be.
