So this is B&T's modern version of the orginal "Hush Puppy" that I believe used a S&W model 59? or as buddy in the video said it could have been a modified S&W 39?
The B&T VP9 or the "vet gun" has made a very recent appearances in both SEAL Team, and the Terminal List "Dark Wolf" TV series, which I think is pretty cool. For anyone interested B&T sell the Glock Hush Puppy as a kit, so modified Glock 19 with slide lock, Aimpoint ACRO, suppressor, both long & short lengths, ammo etc. Enjoy.

The original "Hush Puppy" used a very small, wipe can. Wipe cans sorts suck to shoot. Their only benefit is small size.

Slide locks suck and are totally pointless. The muzzle blast exceeds the action noise so they don't make the shot any quieter, but they do make the next shot WAY slower.

So you think the slide lock had no purpose at all??? Hmmm, you obviously don't watch enough spy movies, LOL.
BTW "wipes" are more efficient, however there life is limited and so is ammunition selection.

I am cursed to have actually shot a slide locked and wiped pistol. So I don't need to rely on Hollyweird for my knowledge.

Wipes also SUCK. They hold pressure inside the can so that when the gun cycles, it spits unburnt powder in your face. I fired one or two rounds like that and was done with that BS.

Wiped and slide locked is mildly amusing as you can hear the pressure leaking out of the gun with a hissing sound. But the amusement is pretty short lived after having the manually cycle the gun every shot, which is a drag.

Cool, what was the pistol? & under what circumstances? if you can share,

It was a KAC modified Beretta 92 and KAC snap-on can. Was down in the USA visiting a friend who had a massive collection of exotic weapons and silencers. We shot several different guns / cans in his backyard.

Was def a case of "never meet your heroes". I thought it was the coolest gun ever, until I actually shot the thing.

Like this.

Modern cans are so good now i dunno why you would bother with wipes or locks.
Exactly this.

Modern silencers are approaching action noise. Stopping the action cycling really offers no additional sound reduction.

The only benefit to wiped cans is they can be very small. However wiped cans have serious downsides.
