7 Claymore cartridge?

I think I remember something about it.

I think it's a wildcat that is basically a 7mm Creedmoor. similar to the 7mm-08 AI?

AI says....

The term "7mm Claymore" refers to a custom or wildcat cartridge that involves necking up a 6.5mm case to accept a 7mm bullet.

So the 7 Claymoor is the 7SWC and 7x47?
No the 7 Claymoor is a necked up Creedmoor case. The 7x47 (in this case) is a necked up 6.5x47 Grendal case. 7 SWC is one of the Sherman wildcats, I think. There used to be a 7x47 back in the day based on the 222 Rem Mag case as well. Someone saw the Rem 6x47 and went hmmm. - dan

6.5x47 isn't close to the Grendel, it is based on a .473 case head and holds 33% more volume than the Grendel

6.5x47 runs about 50 fps less than the Creedmoor (gasp! - not the Creedmoor!) and 200 fps more then the Grendel with equal bullet weight / barrel length / chamber pressure). The wildcat 6.5 GT would lag behind the x47 by 50 fps if anybody cares
