Hey guys! This is my first post here, and I'd like to introduce myself to the community. I've lived most of my life in Quebec City, and my interest in shooting started a few years ago with my dad's old pellet gun and a printed bullseye leaned up against a tree in his back yard. I'm currently just beginning the process of acquiring my PAL, and really have very little experience dealing with the required licenses and the whole process of registration and whatnot.

I've been a combat engineer for a little over a year, and letting lead loose on the range with weapons like the Diemaco C7, C9 and C6 has really given me the bite. I look forward to acquiring my license, purchasing my first firearm, being an active member of this fantastic community and swapping tips at the range!

Bonjour au royal 22e? just a guess...

Hi there, welcome, you'll have lots of fun stuff to read, you've found the right spot!

Haha, nope. I belong to the 35 Combat Engineer Regiment. The Van Doos are mostly infantry, as far as I know. Thanks for the welcome, though! There's so much information to assimilate, I'll be up all night!

Welcome aboard!

Quebec city is not a bad place to be as a shooter! If you like Milsurp rifle, their a good bunch of guys running a summer league in St-Jean Chrysostôme... it's a whole lot of fun, I always try to go to a few of them.

Have fun,

Michel.

Really? That's not too far from my place. I'll look into it, thanks!

Welcome aboard. I worked in Limoilou and lived in the St. Sacrement area in 1979-1980. Been back to visit old friends several times. There's lots to learn here and a great bunch of guys (ladies included).

Welcome, recently retired from the Military, started to miss the ranges also, so took my gun safety courses, now just waiting for the PAL / PALR to get here so I can start looking for a M-14S/305 or maybe an SKS.

Enjoy....

Welcome to CGN. I was only in Québec City once, in Aug. 1995, I think. Fabulous! There was a mediaeval festival on - Les Médiaevales - when I was there. Quite an experience. And the beer....!!!!!! (It's a LOOOOOOOOONG walk up from the Old City to the top of La Grande Allée after a pitcher of St. Ambroise.)

:) Stuart

P.S. So, where are you originally from?

Lévis :)

Haha that's funny. I met the guy for the first time just today, actually! He works for Sgt Bilodeau at the QM, right? He's a nice guy. I'll pass on the message, Eric.

Hah, I know what you mean. Going to the range is a great part of the job. I'm going on Sunday with my troop, actually.

An M-14 is a 7.62 caliber rifle, right? SKS sounds familiar, but I don't think I know precisely what it is. Could someone enlighten me?

Haha, yeah, that can be a pretty steep climb, but it's worth it for the view. La Grande Allée is the best place in town, though! Quite a few great bars, and great people.

Thanks for the words of welcome guys!
