What caliber is your deluxe in?.Swivels are for sure not factory.
The Model 64 is one of my favourite rifles. In the past, I had quite a few of them, but at present time, just have one Deer Rifle left. The Deer Rifle is the name given to the deluxe version of the Model 64.![]()
My rifle is a .30-30.Was to a gun show yesterday and there were two standard version Model 64 rifles for sale there. Both were in .32 Special. What caliber is your deluxe in?.
What distinguishes a deluxe model 64? I just took a look at mine...just says Model 64 30-30 on the tube. So standard version?Swivels are for sure not factory.

The standard is like original posters gun which had sling swivels added after market. Standard and deluxe only differ in sling swivels and checkered stocks being offered on the deluxe. Original Winchester literature called the deluxe the " deer rifle." If I remember right. What distinguishes a deluxe model 64? I just took a look at mine...just says Model 64 30-30 on the tube. In the past I had two in new condition Model 64 Deer Rifles. They were too pretty to shoot.I have the same pre 64 rifle in as new condition. They are one slick piece great find.
I have never owned a gun I wouldn't shoot. Once I get a new or new to me gun the first thing I do after optics is to start shooting...usually in my back yard...too impatient to go to the range. In the past I had two in new condition Model 64 Deer Rifles. They were too pretty to shoot.![]()
Yes that's a good part of the reason I sold those two rifles. If a firearms is too nice or too expensive to shoot,it is too nice or too expensive for me to own.I have never owned a gun I wouldn't shoot. My 64 has taken at least a dozen deer..I call it the 'Deer Rifle' too.![]()
I resemble this comment...Selling a gun for me is like pulling teeth while your nuts are clamped in a vise with no pain medication. I most always end up regretting it but i don't buy guns i don't want or like.
