Why Would ANYONE Want an SKS Rifle in 2025?

Tradex was probably the most recent Russian SKS deals, quite a few years ago, $189 if I remember right.
Wild times, Russian SKS were not around, then we were flooded with them.
Current prices for any of them... Chinese or Russian, are pretty offensive and predatory

Agreed. Just seen a dealer on this site selling a chin lee SKS for more than $ 900.00 big ones. You can't make this #### up.Waiting for the REAL Black Friday sale ( the last Friday of the month ) You know buy a case of ammo get SKS for $99.00. but even I know I am pissing into the wind.

Few days left if it's worth more to ya...

They may be offensive but predatory pricing requires buyers to have no choice and buyers have a choice here. If the price is above what the market will bear. nobody will buy.

...and weren't there French Ticklers for $499 about a year or so ago?
A friend got a regular Chinese from Cabelas for $450 about 18 months ago.

Could never bring myself to buy one. Now I’m kinda thinking I should.

What breed is considered the best? European or Chinese?
The good old days huh
Everyone should have one or more... of each. ;)

- East German Karabiner S
- Soviet
- Finnish M39
- Type 56
- Romanian
- Ukrainian -D/-M
- Yugo M59/6

F$@K no!!!! Pure junk
Why Is that? Doesn't seem to be a lot of options left in Canada now a days

Never really had a thing for the sks even though they could be had at kenogami gun shop for i think 120.00 with a case of ammo i always went for the 250.00 converted auto ak-47 rifles they had oh the good old days

These can still be had for 450-500 with little search. I hate to say it but if you ever thought about having one, now is the time to buy!

And also buy as much 7.62x39 as you can, the prices have been relatively stable with a semi long plateau if you don't give a hoot about shooting corrosive ammo. Non-corrosive is another ball game though.

Don't see why corrosive hasn't come down... people are so darn picky about not shooting it through an SKS like it's literally hydrochloric acid that it should be leas than $200 per crate.

Get the Russian model. I had one that I could hit a steel Ram at 500 meters with iron sights. Fun to plink with.... but otherwise I didn't find much value in owning one. Sold mine a few years ago. Don't miss it. But then I have a few pieces that I love to shoot and don't get enough time to take them out of the safe
