What do you feel is fair on this Mossberg 17hmr for a friend of mine?

So Sadly I stored my hunting tools thinking I'd be gone only the summer but didn't get back to them until they lived a winter in cold storage and some got surface rust. This one is in decent shape compared to a few early 1900s era ones. The bubba sling holder can pop off if he wants it to, I just found it helpful when walking with a high power for elk and then this for grouse. I want to be completely fair when I set a price and hoped the vast knowledge here would help me determine what is fair for a friend of mine to buy this.

Also side note if I am going to put some up on the Equipment exchange, do I post here for rim fires and then another for the really old ones like I did here asking for a fair price point? for example a rim 32, 32-40, and a 1862 Enfield chambered as a 577 Snider <sp?)
Thanks for your input

You can ask for ideas on firearm values, but keep in mind that there are just as many sharks here as there is in the ocean...are you already receiving pm's with lowball offers for the other guns? I'd be surprised if it hasn't happened yet.

Do some googling yourself and check Canadian retail prices, and go from there. The magazine, scope, sling thing and lock would be worth $50 alone, so don't accept bs prices from yahoos.

Is the rust on the rimfire "rust rust, pitted corroded" or surface rust that can magically disappear with cereal box type cardboard and oil polishing?

just a bit of surface rust... I saw a used in great shape for 259 but it doesn't say when it was sold. for example 5 yrs ago? with google like anything you can find a variety of different "answers" to the same question so hopefully I can boil down the info i get here for a better idea. maybe 200? comes with a good scope and the 259 one did not. and I think i still have a 2nd clip for it as well.

Anyway thanks for your input :)

Hard for me to say exactly on this particular rifle, I just know it's worth more than the cost of 2 pizzas and a bottle of pepsi. $160-$200 is my SWAG, depending how the rust cleans up. What the market says might be different. Just remember you can always drop your price week by week in the EE, but you can never raise it.

Without having it in my hand I would say $150-200. Beware of those that want all the guns for cheap. They will do a quick wd40 and steel wool clean and resell for full retail.

I've never seen a 17hmr for the same prices as a single shot cooey before. The cheapest 22's of all times are often 150-200. I would think this would be a bit more. And the surface rust should.come off with 0000 steel wool

They were listed at 450 new.

If you were selling to a friend and want to give him a deal / not make anything you could sell it for 200 I'm sure.
