Yea!!! and Ouch!!! Ithaca 37 is back!! Price gouging or worth it ?

Price gouging or worth it ??? Your opinion?
My opinion? There is no such thing as price gouging in a freeish market. Don't buy it if you don't like the deal, easy peasy. Is that price insane? Absolutely, but that's not at all the same thing as gouging.

Apparently guns aren’t selling well in the States.

Pricing may have to be adjusted or a sale on them.
And that's how markets work.

I still feel its a $350 gun
You can't even buy a ChiCom knock off of the 37 for $350. You may need to adjust your pricing expectations forward from 1988.

I'm surprised the Turks don't make stakeout's and Trench clones..... those would likely sell better then their current models.
They might have importation problems into the US with stakeout models. Their 'sporting purposes' clause keeps a lot of cool guns out. I don't think Kanada's market is big enough to do it just for us. Especially with the current regime in power.

Well the recent changes down south around Tax stamps for short barrelled rifles and suppressors might change things for the stakeout.... I don't see any issues with making clones of the other models I'd like to see....... but who knows?

Even if that bureaucracy got put into line (and there is no guarantee it has), this is only going to last for the next 3 years and then very likely back to the previous BS.

Predicting the future has never been harder.... the tax stamp thing was a hang over from the last century... I doubt it will be a priority to put it back into law by any future govt. what ever that might look like down the road.

The tax stamp is still there, the fee is just set to $0. Very much like our own consumer carbon tax, that fee can be jacked up very easily in the future. And the commerce department (I think they are the ones in charge of gun import) can easily change policies with the next administration and start clamping down on imports using the sporting purposes clause again. That takes no more than a phone call from the oval office to implement.

I agree things are pretty chaotic and there is very little stability or predictability anywhere in the US government for the next while.

It would be cool to see 37 clones in 8 shot riot and stakeout versions coming here until they are banned. I'd likely buy one of the riot versions.

They do make sort of a trench version... but it's not really a true clone of any classic Ithaca, they looks like these,

Once again, only a few being made and once they’re gone they’re gone. Will likely be collectors that buy them. They are NOT mass producing them again for that price, simply making a few complete guns from leftover parts. Same guys complaining are the same guys spending 3k on a plastic Benelli

....even beyond US politics, the changes on the horizon are beyond comprehension for the most part.... thank god people love change!

:)

Yea!!! and Ouch!!! Ithaca 37 is back!! New! Factory direct.

Model 37 Featherlight

$2,799.00 USD 28” vent rib barrel with a TruGlo front sight and AA Grade wood. (I figure $4500 Canadian all in to your door using importer). I am a left handed shooter and I am a huge Ithaca 37 fan. I know they are a fantastic gun. I would love to get one of these new ones ... but that is one expensive pump shotgun ... Price gouging or worth it ??? Your opinion? Thanks.

Model 37 Trench Gun 12 Gauge

$2,999.00 USD
Not worth anymore than $400.00, find a nice used one.

WOW, regardless of what the collectors will pay and what stock parts may have been lying around. If indeed they're made from existing parts stock, so then no tooling or re-engineering had to be done.
Assembly only ??? ..yup...that's gouging at its finest !!
