Beretta 1301 Mod 2 - What's Up With Canadian Versions?

OK, you have an excuse for it. Young guy blasting a Creedmore with similar brake, beside me a few days ago, had none. Creedmore doesn't need one, unless shooting ground squirrels @ 500-700...... & going for max accuracy..... other than to blast me through my muffs!
He was shooting at 50 & 100.
This reply was in jest; yes I agree anyone can use a brake on anything, if that's their thing, whether really needed for performance & help or not, as long as it is allowed. They do look pretty! Just hate being off to the side of them. Will look for "brakes" for sure, next time before I set up at the range...... :)

Bass Pro (the artist formerly known as Cabelas) has a black 1301 Mod 2 listed as 4+1 capacity. However, if you choose the FDE colour it magically becomes 5+1 capacity hahaha! Nobody knows why too.

Just got one of these things. Was hoping it would be what Beretta pictured.

As I understand it, the big features are:

1. Improved trigger
2. Improved lifter
3. MLok Handguard
4. Longer mag tube

Based on what I see so far, it looks like we just got the improved trigger and lifter only.

Is this like a Canadian thing where we get butchered down versions of the US products? I guess the tube extension may be C21-related? I thought that round limiter was for detachable mags, not tube mags, unless it's due to the semi-auto nature of the action.

I also don't get why they would not have included the MLOK handguard/foreend - that seems to be part of the allure in getting this.

Otherwise, this is essentially a 1301 Gen 2 more than a Mod 2.

Am I misunderstanding something here?
NOTE. Mod 2s in canada are not coming with the mlock fore stock.

The 1301 has a 3" chamber. So, as thegazzelle says, the most the tube can hold is 5 rounds of 3" shells...which probably equates to 6, 2.75" shells. 6+1 if chambered. Ghost loading would be 6+2 and if you want to risk shooting your own foot off, or jamming the gun when you'd need it to work, you could load it that way I suppose? Or, if it's mag capacity you're looking for, just get a pump. It's really not that much slower.
1301 runs flawless with ghost loading. I do it all the time with my 1301 comp

My point regarding ghost loading is two fold. 1) until practiced to proficiency, it's clumsy. Clumsy shotgunning is dangerous shotgunning. 2) the gun was never designed to ghost load. It can/will lead to jamming the cycling.
