It's been about two years and quite a bit of back and forth with the RCMP and unfortunately a few extra welds but finally got the CA paperwork for the M14, AR10 AND Fn.... The M14 the conversion was fine nothing more needed. The AR10 the selector switch the notch for fa was filled with weld the holes for the sear had a rod welded in the trip on the hammer ground off blob of weld on selector so it could not be removed from lower. Lastly the poor Fn it's not too ugly selector done as above the bolt carrier S'S trip ground off safety sear ground down both ends and welded into upper all old style...... Newer welds hinge pin welded to lower so lower can't be separated and hammer pin welded to lower so hammer can't be replaced. Kinda ugly

Your Portuguese/NATO variant AR10 appears to be in good shape if the external finish is anything to go by. Shame about the "Wilke Special" replacement wooden furniture, but the original stuff was pretty fragile. Wilke ended up with a bunch of rifles with damaged furniture, so had to commission the wooden replacements for the rifles he sold in Canada and the Parts Kits he exported into the USA. I see that yours comes with the BFA installed in the internally-threaded Flash-Hider. Check the bore - some are decent (mine is a mint replacement), and some are sewer-pipes from corrosive-primered ammo.

Now that you have the BFA, you need to hunt down the other Portuguese accessories. Bayonets are out there (I have a spare.... hint, hint), as are the Magazine Chargers if you know what you are looking for.

You have a nice-looking Israeli FAL also! The last one sold by Switzers earlier this month was pretty beat up by comparison....

I have a decent-condition, earlier Sudanese-variant AR-10 inbound. The Inspection is complete and the transfer is currently with the Registrar. The Bolt Catch appears to be missing in the photo, but I am assured that it is with the rifle. The main thing is that the fragile, full-length Handguards are fully intact with no "soft" spots. I managed to score a fairly rare Sudanese bayonet with integral "swiss army tool kit" for $400 at a local gun show. Another bayonet example sold at Switzers a month later for $1800 CAD - Egad!

That looks great ...I was up to see Wilke a few times always interesting but he rubbed me the wrong way a few times but in the end we made up
